Saints win 31-24!

The Saints pull through and remain in the playoff hunt with a victory today in New Orleans. Despite two turnovers, especially one by Patten late in the game, the Saints offense put together an impressive campaign and keep the Arizona offense off the field. The defense did its job also, and did not give up many big plays, and produced two turnovers and the offense was able to cash in for 14 points.

Now, all us Saints fans must shout “Geaux Bears!”, as a win this Monday night by the Chicago Bears over the Minnesota Vikings will put New Orleans in the drivers seat for securing the last wildcard spot for the playoffs.

Thanks to the Bad Astronomer for posting this:

Pee Wee is back! And for two movies, according to this article from MTV.

Comedy actor PAUL REUBEN is reprising his most famous character to make two new PEE-WEE HERMAN movies. Just months after vowing never to play the kids’ favourite again, Reubens is working on two new scripts - the first due for release in 2009…

Those of us who are of a certain age (30ish) love Pee Wee from our high school and college days. I have been making my young daughter a fan of Pee Wee by showing her his old show that ran on CBS. I would love to be able to take my daughter to a new movie of his! Sure beats the crap that is currently being put out for children these days on television and movies. High School Musical? Gag me with a spoon!

Huzzah for Pee Wee!

I Like Mike

Yep, it’s true! I love Mike Huckabee! I endorse him and fully support him in his effort to become the Republican presidential offering. I might even vote for him in the Alabama primary.

Why, you ask?

It’s simple. Huckabee is so right of the mainstream that if he is running, the Democrats are assuredly going to win the election. If you thought Dubya was bad, get a load of this guy:

“I didn’t get into politics because I thought government had a better answer. I got into politics because I knew government didn’t have the real answers, that the real answers lie in accepting Jesus Christ into our lives.” source

Some other ideas he supports (source):

  • support for ousted Alabama Chief Judge Roy Moore’s court-stripping bill to keep federal courts from meddling with public officials who use their office to promote religion
  • vetoes of hate crimes legislation, ENDA (anti-discrimination law), and the fairness doctrine
  • stripping schools of federal funding for exposing children to “homosexual propaganda”
  • repealing IRS restrictions on churches endorsing candidates
  • bringing back Bush’s social security privatization plan
  • imposing a ban on federal funding for any U.S. group that performs or advocates for abortion
  • boosting federal abstinence spending to match contraceptive funding

Isn’t he just dreamy? They might as well just have Dobson run - they are basically the same demon. But, Huckabee is a little more TV friendly facial wise than Dobson, and Huckabee has Executive experience by being the governor of Arkansas. Doesn’t it warm your heart to know that this buffoon actually won in Arkansas? Of course, he won for lieutenant governor and was promoted when then-governor Jim “Guy” Tucker was indicted in the Whitewater scandal. Check this link for more on his pre-political life if you have any doubts to how delusional this man really is.

My belief is that once this fool becomes the Republican choice, that the independents and moderates will move to the Democratic candidate, even if it is Hillary.

EDIT: Here’s 10 more reasons (using my logic) to vote for Huckabee! PZ Myers also agrees.
